Video of a world-record bass was caught at Bullards Bar Reservoir in Yuba County California on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 16, 2016. Professional bass tournament angler, Cody Meyer was out fishing and caught this beautiful 10.8 pound spotted monster sized bass. This Bullards Bar fish will be a world record if it is certified by the International Game Fish Association, or IGFA.

Luckily for Cody, he has full video, which is featured below. Along with the weighing and certification process that has been witnessed, and photographed. Cody was out fishing with JR Wright that day and  with the help of JR Wright. As well as the current California State Record spotted bass holder Tim Little. Tim rushed to join the two on the lake, and help after Cody's catch.

The record spotted bass was caught on a prototype Daiwa Tatula rod,, Daiwa Exist reel, and 6-lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon fishing line, with a Strike King Ocho stick bait lure tied on.

The two anglers also had an impressive day on Bullards Bar, with 5 fish weighing in over 40 lbs. Bullards Bar has put out some impressive monster sized big bass in the past. With the great job of stocking trout, we are sure to see plenty more world record class fishing coming out of California in the foreseeable future.

Note:  There is also an awaiting certification from Wes Roberson, who on December 27, 2015 caught an 11 pound spotted bass. This fish is also pending world record recognition from International Game Fish Association.
